The App

What to do in an emergency

In case of emergency call 112/999 or use VHF Channel 16 and ask for the Coast Guard.

If you see anybody in danger or think they are in danger in the sea, in the water or along the coast - call as soon as you can.

Remain calm. Float in the water. Don't fight the current as you will waste valuable energy.

Going to the Beach, Lake or other inland waterways

If going to the coast, check the weather and tides using the Safety on the Water app so you don’t get cut off.

You should only swim at lifeguarded beaches or waterways, as shown in the app.

Always be aware of rip currents or moving water in rivers and NEVER use inflatable water toys on open waters.
